Ironman Australia Triathlon set for April 2



'February 13, 2006: The Ironman Australia Triathlon begins a new era on April 2, 2006, in Port Macquarie, 100km north from the race’s former home in Forster-Tuncurry. The move has proven, after early controversy, the correct decision with over 1654 athletes entered into the race. It’s a pleasing result for IMG director of Triathlon, Dallas O’Brien who stated, “We believed this was the correct move to sustain the future of the race in Australia. We also wanted to provide better facilities, create an appealing event for overseas visitors and with the number of entries attained it looks like we have made the right decision.
