Shimano profits, revenue down in 2005



'Shimano’s 2005 net profit slipped nearly 16 percent compared to 2004, according to figures just released from Shimano Europe, but the company nonetheless netted more than (US)$139 million after-tax dollars for the full year. Shimano reported total revenues of $1.426 billion, an $11.33 million drop from last year. The components and parts company’s bicycle division sales were off by $34.2 million to $1.06 billion, a 3.1 percent drop. Its fishing tackle division revenues were up $22.8 million (7.2 percent) to $338.4 million and partially offset lower sales on the bicycle side.
